mapping sites (2010), Aimée Xenou & friends
USA & international sites

At the beginning of ‘mapping sites’ we had three team members, Aimée Xenou, Nora Rabins, and Sarah Coats (Gallery Assistance). At the end of the project, ‘mapping sites’ had more than 200 participants and supporters – located mostly in western Massachusetts, but also in Germany, the UK, Australia, France, Greece, and Iceland. People coming from dance, music composition, geology, textile work, programming, sound work, and other fields participated in the various strands of ‘mapping sites’ and made it what it was. In all participation areas, people met within the open framework of this multi-site travel art project by becoming involved with art in practice – with mapping sites in action. And without the creative input of all these wonderful people – mapping sites would not have been what it was.
